Tacho Fiddling Boss Jailed

Tacho Fiddling Boss Jailed The Managing Director of an Northern Ireland haulage company has been jailed after official discovered some of his drivers had been working up to 22 hours a day.

65 year old Patrick Boyle from County Down received a two year prison sentence from Carlisle Crown Court on the 29th April; after he admitted plotting with his drivers to make false tachograph records.

Fellow director & son Mark Boyle, 36, was given an 18 month prison sentence after also admitting planning to create false records.

In addition to this a further 15 drivers have received suspended sentences and have been ordered to carry out unpaid work when the also pleaded guilty.
