The Road To Fuel Efficiency

The Department for Transport (DfT) SAFED scheme for safe and fuel efficient driving is intended to improve the driving techniques of van drivers through training. It provides many useful tips to make the daily driving task safer and more relaxing thus less stressful, despite a heavy workloads.

The DfT is proposing to make eco-training for drivers mandatory, as part of the Driver CPC for LGV's & PCV's, to reduce costa and environmental damage caused by CO² emissions. The problem of training may cause ''bottlenecks'' to arise near the deadline for completion of CPC training in 2013 (PCV) and 2014 (LGV).
